実践/現実的な英会話-上司の作業指示

次の「上司の作業指示」において、現実的な英会話の実践です。

Hey, Janice. Pete, look what it says in the paper. It shows Hobson Appliance Company’s new coffee machine. What’s going on, Janice?

Hobson appliance plans to compete with our coffee makers, Mr. Duncan. Their new machine has a built-in coffee grinder and it remembers how you like your coffee. It goes on sale next week.

This could mean trouble. Our new model won’t be in stores for a month. We need ideas fast, Janice.

Ideas. Right,

Pete?

Yes, Mr. Duncan. Look at their coffee maker. Black numbers on a gray background. That technology is 20 years old. Why not use our in house LCD technology to make a better display?

Pete, color LCD is nothing new.

Janice, go back to your computer.

Pete, keep talking. I have a friend in the computer display department. He said our newest displays are state of the art. With their help, we could make a display with color and animation. Our coffee maker would be easier to use and more modern looking than Hobson’s.

This idea just might work. Janice, come here. I want you and Pete to go to the computer display department, find out when they can have a new display ready.
